Sony First Electric car called the Vision-S CES 2020. Self-driving Vision S electric prototype is decked out with ‘360-degree’ audio and a ‘panoramic’ in-dash entertainment screen.
These days the first largest Consumer Electronics Show (CES) of 2020 is going on in Las Vegas, USA. In this show, tech companies from all over the world are going to present their future products. Sony, an electronics equipment company, has also shocked the world by presenting its car at the show. This concept electric car from Sony is named Vision S.
33 kinds of sensors
Sony’s car has 33 types of sensors inside and outside, as well as multiple widescreen displays, 360-degree audio, connectivity features along with some features of companies like BlackBerry and Bosch. The car is built on a “newly-designed EV platform”. Which is designed by automotive supplier Magna.
Due to the headlights, it looks like Porsche from outside looking. On the inside is a screen on the dashboard of the Vision S, which is very similar to the display seen in the car of Chinese electric vehicle startup Byton. Also, screens are provided on the headrests of the front seats for those sitting in the back.
Self Driving Capability
Sony Company CEO Kenichiro Yoshida said that this prototype depicts future mobility. This car has features such as advanced safety systems, lane departure warning systems. Also, due to sensors in the future, it can also be equipped with self-driving capabilities.
Time of flight sensors
This car has another special feature. It has Time of Flight (ToF) sensors, which can identify things to people standing in and out of the car. It has the feature of an onboard entertainment system. Sony has named them “Safety Cocoon Concept”, which can detect the 360-degree movement of the car.
Top speed 149 mph
The Vision S sedan is a 4 seater car with two 200 kW locomotives and can hold a speed of 0 to 62 km in 4.8 seconds. The top speed of this car is 149 mph.
